Matthew got “punked” by his peers on the Spirit West Coast cruise to Alaksa. The artists Phil Joel, Bebo Norman, Aaron Shust, Bob Smiley, Wayne Watson and Matthew were asked to come to the stage by host Jon Robberson for a dance-off. The grand prize was $50.00. The only catch was that they had to wear a paper bag over their heads - the audience would then vote on who was the best dancer. Even the children - Lulu West, Phynley and Eden Joel - joined in on the practical joke. The music began and everyone started dancing. What Matthew didn’t know was that everyone else took their bags off, leaving Matthew dancing alone with a bag over his head as the audience laughed hysterically! Matthew was a great sport and he did win the grand prize!

Madi Dalton from Nashville, TN joined Matthew to sign while he sang “You Know Where To Find Me.”

Matthew was joined by daughter Lulu West and Granpa West (Poppy) on the Whale Excursion Boat where they saw orca and humpback whales!

Songwriters Show to Benefit
On July 22nd Matthew will be joining several other Nashville songwriters for A Night Of Hope: Benefiting the China Earthquake Orphans at the Mercy Lounge in Nashville, Tennessee. Advanced ticket sales are available at www.mercylounge.com or by phone 615-251-3020.

There will be $50 Gold Circle Seats (t-shirt, autographed poster, wristband), $25 Platform Seats (autographed poster) and $10 General Admission (standing room only).

Matthew Hosts Talent Competition Gospel Dream

Matthew West will host Gospel Dream 2008 which is the first and only Christian/Gospel talent competition. Starting June 1st at 9:00PM ET Gospel Dream will be seen in 40 million homes including DIRECTV channel 338.
